Housing Compliance Specialist

Full-Time (40 hours/week), Hourly, Non-Exempt. Location: YWCA Silicon Valley, San Jose, CA 95112 Website: www.ywca-sv.org

Hourly / Salary Range: $46,800 – $53,300 DOE annually

Be a key part of shaping this future as our new Housing Compliance Specialist working in the Rapid Rehousing program in our Housing Department.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Housing & Development, the Housing Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing compliance-related guidance and administrative support for tenant-based rental assistance programs. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Process rental assistance applications from various programs and collaborative partner agencies by verifying and documenting client’s eligibility based on program
  • Perform housing quality standards inspections, prepare client move-in documents and provide support for meeting related to move-in with landlord, case manager and
  • Prepare monthly invoices for contract expenses including all back up documentation

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or college course work in human services field or equivalent combination of education and experience in housing industry. Candidate should have strong knowledge of the Santa Clara County housing market and subsidy voucher programs.  Candidates should have knowledge of sensitivity to sexual assault and domestic violence issues, trauma, gender equity and/or other forms of oppression.

Desired: Minimum of 1 year experience working in housing industry. Minimum 2 years’ experience reading, preparing or tracking financial components and document compliance of a program or project.

Required: Cleared background check (fingerprinting), valid TB test, valid California driver’s license, and auto insurance.
