YWCA Silicon Valley’s mission is supported through the deeper healing of trauma with a focus on empowerment, equity, awareness, and unconditional positive regard. We work to help our clients regain the freedom of choice, connect with and tolerate difficult feelings, and engage in relationships with others in a healthy, mindful way.
Shame thrives on secrecy and isolation; group therapy provides a way for people to come together in a supportive environment and experience deep empathy. Group therapy is often used in addition to individual therapy, and we offer groups focused on support & education, creative expressions, as well as deeper processing.
