School-Based Counseling
YWCA School-Based Counseling The YWCA's School-Based Counseling program provides on-campus emotional, behavioral, and mental counseling for a broad range of issues. Counselors provide services on-campus to students at 16 middle and high schools throughout the San Jose Unified School District. School-age youth may also access our counseling services at the YWCA Counseling Center located in downtown San Jose.

Sometimes it can be hard for youth to cope with all of the changes that happen during their childhood and teenage years. If you or someone you know are having trouble dealing with certain situations or emotions, counseling is a helpful way of sorting things out.

To find out more about YWCA counselors and our school based counseling program at a specific school site, please call (408) 295-4011 ext. 259 to reach our confidential intake and information line. You can also find out more about this program through San Jose Unified School District middle and high school administration offices.

Like adults, children and teens can have mental health disorders that interfere with the way they think, feel, and act. Mental health influences the ways individuals look at themselves, their lives, and others in their lives. Like physical health, mental health is important at every stage of life.
