Our Family Services Department offers workshops for parents and children to experience together. In the past we have offered workshops to increase teamwork and communication at home, and others to enhance your bond with your infant.
Past workshops offered included:
-
Leadership for Middle-School Kids and Parents
In middle-school, kids begin to have more control over many things, and start making their own decisions. In this workshop, parents and pre-teens work together to discover the leader in every child.
-
Parents and Teens Working Together
During the teen years, parents often find themselves having difficulty communicating with their children. In this workshop, parents and teens work together on projects to enhance their communication methods and improve their overall relationships.
- Sign, Say, and Play
Can your child wave bye-bye? If so, he or she can communicate with you using gestures! We give parents information to help them learn to sign with their children before their children can speak. This is a parent/child workshop.
- Infant Massage and Touch Communication
Parents and babies spend special bonding time together as parents learn to use massage to benefit their babies
