Family ServicesWhether you're getting ready to welcome your first child or beginning to navigate the teen years, parenting is the most challenging thing that most of us will ever do. But it can alsobe the most rewarding! The YWCA offers Supervised Visitation and Parent Workshops to help parents nurture their relationships with their children while navigating through the challenges of parenthood. We offer a wide variety of workshops for every stage of parenting—we even have workshops for parents and children to experience together.

Parent workshops are being offered to start the new year. Begining Thursday April 3, 2008 an eight week session from 6:30-9:00pm every Thursday night. The schedule includes our "Basic Parenting" workshop (for parents of children up to age 11), a "Pre-Teen/Teen" workshop (children age 11 and up) and a "Co-Parenting" workshop. Please note the Basic Parenting Workshop is also offered in Spanish.

There will also be a one-day five hour workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. “Discipline to Improve Behavior” held on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Workshops are offered at the YWCA of Silicon Valley, 375 South 3rd St, San Jose. Click here for a registration form, registration is required prior to the first date of the workshop.

For more information on future workshops, call (408) 295-4011 ext. 258 to speak with Mary Diridon , Director, Family Services.
