Child Care Centers
Childcare "It's all about the kids." It's our philosophy, our mission, and our guiding principle.

This principle is passionately protected by our professional, trained staff. Our child care staff receives continuous training to keep them informed about cultural and community shifts.

Our four centers are licensed by the State of California. Centers are open Monday through Friday. Please see specific centers for exact hours. Rates are reasonable; click here for our rate sheet. Subsidized help is available to qualifying families.

These centers are popular; there may be a waiting list. We serve over 600 children each year. Please let the Director know about your interest in a particular center as soon as possible. For information, please call (408) 295-4011 ext. 215.

Programs that are unique to the YWCA:

  • SPARK - Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids is a program that each center uses to get kids moving!
  • Cultures in a Box - A program that invites children from all cultures to understand our differences and what we have in common.
  • Nutrition - Each center provides children with nutritious snacks and/or meals, and talks to children about the benefits of eating healthy foods.
  • Parent Education - Daily "Skill Sheets" are sent home or posted at each site in an effort to share tools for successful parenting.
  • Developmental Assets - The YWCA supports the mission of Project Cornerstone to shift from simply reacting to children and youth as "problems" to connecting with them so they thrive.

Our Values:

  • Each of us is here because we sincerely love children and we want to make a positive difference in their lives.
  • We know that every interaction needs to be respectful, courteous, and professional because we are role models.
  • We are committed to promoting joy at every opportunity.
  • We all have a voice and deserve to be heard.
  • Good gets rewarded.

Children in our care are from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and families. We embrace all of their differences and encourage the children to be proud of themselves and their unique backgrounds.

If you have any questions, please call (408) 295-4011 ext. 215.

"I use the YWCA's child care and I love it. My little girl always talks about the teachers—some days she can't wait to go in to show them a new dress or shoes. I love knowing that she's safe and she enjoys going there. They have practically raised my daughter, and that means a lot to me."
