Privacy Policy and Practices
The YWCA of Silicon Valley is committed to respecting your online privacy and recognizes your need for appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") you share with us.

We have established this Online Privacy Policy so that you can understand the care with which we intend to treat your Personal Information.

Definition: Personal Information
Personal Information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, a home or other physical address, an e-mail address or other contact information, whether at work or at home.

In general, you can visit the YWCA of Silicon Valley web pages without telling us who you are or revealing any Personal Information about yourself.

If you choose to provide us with your Personal Information on the web, we may transfer that Information within YWCA of Silicon Valley's departments.

We (YWCA of Silicon Valley) strive to comply with all applicable laws that are designed to protect your privacy.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
Our (YWCA of Silicon Valley) web pages do not utilize "cookies" and other tracking technologies.

A "cookie" is a small text file that may be used to collect information about website activity. Some cookies and other technologies may serve to recall Personal Information previously indicated by a web user. Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept them and how to remove them.

You may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie or you may choose to block cookies with your browser. (Note: if you choose to erase or block your cookies, you will need to re-enter your user ID and password to gain access to certain parts of websites that do use "cookies" or other "tracking technologies."

Log Files
Web servers automatically recognize and keep a record of generic information that is commonly available to the server anytime a browser on a computer makes a request to view web pages on our website. The server can see the general domain you are coming from to view our pages, but cannot register your email or any other personal information.

Through our server's web log files we can learn things such as what pages on our site are visited most, how many times our pages are visited, if errors occur when visitors request pages or images or files, and the type of browser and/or operating system visitors to our site are using. We occasionally review this information in order to improve our website's viability and functionality.

No personal information is collected in this manner, nor are lists generated of any personal names, emails or addresses.

To protect your privacy, we have adopted the following principles:

Notice
Should we decide in the future to collect Personal Information on this website for purposes other than that which is obvious by reason of the particular form that may ask of such Personal Information, we intend to post a purpose statement that explains why Personal Information will be collected and whether we plan to share such Personal Information outside of the YWCA of Silicon Valley or those working on the YWCA of Silicon Valley's behalf. We do not intend to transfer Personal Information without your consent to any parties outside of YWCA of Silicon Valley who are not bound to act on the YWCA of Silicon Valley's behalf unless such transfer is legally required.

Choice
You may choose whether or not to provide Personal Information to the YWCA of Silicon Valley. Be advised that, where asked for within particular forms, Personal Information provides us the ability to contact you and to complete any transaction or reservation you may be intending to create.

Security
Wherever your Personal Information may be held within the YWCA of Silicon Valley, we intend to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the Personal Information that you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure.

When you submit Personal Information on our website via our secure forms, such as our Donation Form, we use a secure link between your browser and our website to encrypt and protect the information. This secure socket layer is provided by XO Communications, an industry leader in web hosting and site security. XO Communications Secure Socket Layer (SSL) shields our database from unauthorized access by outside parties.

Accuracy
To the extent that you do provide us with Personal Information, we wish to maintain accurate Personal Information. Where we collect Personal Information from you on the web, our goal is to provide a means of contacting us should you need to update or correct that Information. If for any reason those means are unavailable or inaccessible, you may send updates and corrections about your Personal Information to funddev@ywca-sv.org and we will make reasonable efforts to incorporate the changes in your Personal Information that we hold as soon as practicable.

Third Party Services
Third parties and their services in regard to Personal Information would be defined as any entity outside of the YWCA of Silicon Valley that would perform some service or transaction wherein some Personal Information would be necessary in order for such services or transaction to be performed.

We DO NOT currently engage any third party or their services in the process of making available the ability to make reservations at events, communicate via email, or make secure credit card donations.

In the event that we (YWCA of Silicon Valley) would engage the services of a third party and therefore transfer Personal Information, we would ONLY do so with your consent.

Similarly, it is against our (YWCA of Silicon Valley) policy to sell or otherwise transfer Personal Information collected online.

Children's Privacy
The YWCA of Silicon Valley wishes to provide our Rape Crisis and Counseling services to children where their direct request for assistance, help, or intervention has occurred.

We provide emergency and regular telephone numbers for our Rape Crisis Center and we provide email links which any child visiting our website might take advantage of in the process of reaching out for assistance, help, or intervention.

Any and all information, whether personal data, email content, requests, and/or stories are protected by our privacy policy and our resolve to protect the children, the women and the families of our community or any community that we may hear from via our website.

We are not structured to gather information of any personal nature from children through our website. Accordingly, we do not intend to collect Personal Information from anyone we know to be under 18 years of age through the forms or email links on our website.

Commitment

If you have any comments or questions regarding our Online Privacy Policy, please contact us via funddev@ywca-sv.org. WHILE WE CANNOT GUARANTEE PRIVACY PERFECTION, We will address any issue to the best of our abilities AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Should the Online Privacy Policy change, we intend to take every reasonable step to ensure that these changes are brought to your attention by posting all changes prominently on our website within our Privacy Policy page.
