For over 100 years of service, the mission of the YWCA of Silicon Valley has remained steadfast: to empower women, children, and their families, and to eliminate racism, hatred, and prejudice.
During fiscal year 2006/2007 the programs and services of the YWCA of Silicon Valley received 36% of their funding through grants.

Grants

bldg_nite.jpg Our ability to provide a broad range of services in Santa Clara County is largely made possible through the generosity of foundations, corporations, and government grants. Since our services are offered free of charge, on a sliding scale basis, or with subsidies when available, grant funds allow us to continue offering vital services to the community regardless of an individual’s income.

The YWCA of Silicon Valley partners with a variety of public and private funding agencies in improving the quality of life for women, children, and their families in addition to providing services that meet the needs of culturally and ethnically diverse populations in Santa Clara County. We are proud to announce some of our funding partnerships.

YWCA of Silicon Valley in partnership with East Side Union High School District is granted $5M through 21st Century ASSETs funding (9/20/07)

YWCA Youth Services and its' New Options after-school program have received funding through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program. Working in partnership with East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD), the YWCA has been awarded $1 million for five consecutive years to provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program. Under the 21st CCLC High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETS) grant, the YWCA will serve students attending Andrew P. Hill High, William C.
