Sexual Assault Services Volunteer Opportunities
The YWCA Silicon Valley is always recruiting volunteers to serve as Sexual Assault Counselor! This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as an advocate and crisis counselor for victims of sexual assault. The work that we engage in is very rewarding, both personally and professionally. Our volunteers engage in direct client contact and become a part of a community working to end sexual violence.
We provide support, assistance, and resources to survivors or significant others who call our 24-hour crisis line or who are in need of accompaniment to a forensic-medical exam. We offer our services to men and women in English, Spanish, and a variety of other languages. We’re always looking for both male and bi-lingual advocates to help us better meet the needs of our clients.
Sexual Assault Volunteer Counselor
Crisis-line volunteers provide crisis counseling to survivors of assault and their families over the phone or at the hospital. State-mandated training is offered twice each year for Sexual Assault Crisis-line volunteers.
