Susanne B. Wilson Scholarship Award

Each year, a young woman from one of the YWCA programs is selected each year to receive this special award. This scholarship is named in honor of a long-time distinguished volunteer of the YWCA, Susanne "Susie" B. Wilson. For almost 40 years, Susie Wilson has been the driving force behind the YWCA of Silicon Valley. Susie's belief in the YWCA's mission of empowering women and eliminating racism makes her fearless and tireless in her efforts to raise support, both morally and financially, for the YWCA.

Susie leads by example, and her positive attitude and belief in what the YWCA offers the community led to the construction of Villa Nueva, the YWCA's beautiful building on Third Street that serves as the administrative offices for the organization. Villa Nueva also houses 62 low-income apartments dedicated in her honor as the Susanne B. Wilson Residences.
